Five package thefts were reported in Pierce County over Thanksgiving weekend alone. Now, local law enforcement is teaming up with Amazon on package theft prevention.
PIERCE COUNTY, Wash. — Package thefts are already ramping up across the region as shoppers take advantage of holiday discounts, and law enforcement officials are warning the busy season for porch pirates is only beginning.
“Our little Grinch thieves are gonna be out wandering around, specifically, knowing the packages are gonna be delivered,” said Deputy Carly Cappetto, spokesperson for the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office.
