With U.S. inflation hitting a 40-year high in June, it’s not surprising voters are prioritizing pocketbook issues. Concern about the economy was shared fairly evenly among Democrats (37%) and independents (33%), while 25% of Republican respondents cited it as a top concern.
Voters between 36 and 50 years old were most concerned about economic issues (39%). Voters 65 and older were least concerned (26%). Half of voters polled who said they earn less than $50,000 a year cited the economy as their top concern, while 28% of voters earning $100,000 or more a year cited the economy.
