Police to crackdown on speeding, street racing in Bellevue

This comes days after an 18-year-old motorcyclist was killed after colliding with a vehicle at a Bellevue intersection.

BELLEVUE, Wash. — Bellevue police announced Tuesday it will increase its focus on speeding after a motorcyclist was killed Saturday.

Starting this weekend and running throughout May, the Bellevue Police Department (BPD) will have officers dedicated to reducing speeding incidents and curbing events that encourage street racing in the city. This comes days after an 18-year-old motorcyclist collided with a vehicle at an intersection along NE 8th Street and 116th Avenue Northeast.
