Tacoma police made additional arrests on first-degree murder charges over a brutal 2024 killing.
TACOMA, Wash. — Court documents indicate a deadly confrontation that left a 56-year-old man beaten to death in Tacoma last fall may have started as a robbery gone wrong.
William Akers was found dead Nov. 27, 2024, inside a detached shed on South Oakes Street. The Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office ruled his death a homicide, citing multiple blunt-force injuries. Investigators said he appeared to have been struck with a 34-pound air compressor and a chair.
Detectives arrested three people in the case: Christopher Charles Reyes, 47, on Jan. 6,
