Police: 2 shot near Pioneer Square light rail station; suspect in custody

Seattle Fire said medics responded and transported an adult female to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition. A 52-year-old man was also hospitalized.

SEATTLE — Two people were shot near the Pioneer Square light rail station Wednesday afternoon, and a suspect is in custody, according to Seattle police.

Officers responded to 3rd Avenue and James Street around 6 p.m. Seattle Fire said medics responded and transported an adult female to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition. A 52-year-old man was also hospitalized in stable condition.

The woman was shot in the head, according to Seattle police. The man was shot in the foot.
