Pilot sues Boeing, claims the company blamed him after midair door plug blowout

The Alaska Airlines pilot is asking for at least $10 million in damages, citing harm to his professional reputation and emotional distress.

SEATTLE — Two years after a midair emergency forced an Alaska Airlines flight to make an emergency landing, the pilot who safely brought the plane back to the ground is now suing Boeing, alleging the company damaged his reputation by blaming him for the incident. 

Captain Brandon Fisher is seeking at least $10 million in damages over statements Boeing made after a door plug blew out of the aircraft shortly after takeoff from Portland.

The incident happened just six minutes after the flight
