Pacific flood victims demand accountability nearly a month after White River disaster

Organizers of Thursday’s Town Hall in Kent say legal action could be on the table against the city of Pacific or King County within the next 30 days.

PACIFIC, Wash. — Nearly a month after devastating flooding along the White River forced evacuations and displaced families, residents packed a town hall meeting Thursday night demanding answers about a failed temporary flood barrier.

The meeting at Redeemed by the Blood Pentecostal Church in Kent drew dozens of people who live and work in Pacific, many still unable to return home. All came with the same question: Who is to blame?
