O’Reilly Auto Parts to pay $5.6M for denial of pregnancy accommodations to Washington workers

More than 50 workers who were not provided reasonable workplace accommodations while pregnant and postpartum will be compensated in the settlement.

PUYALLUP, Wash. — Women across Washington who alleged discrimination related to their pregnancies while working for O’Reilly Auto Parts stores will receive compensation under a $5.6 million settlement between the employer and the State of Washington.

After investigating multiple complaints of pregnancy-related discrimination at O’Reilly, the Washington Attorney General’s Office (AGO) filed a lawsuit against the Missouri-based O’Reilly Auto Enterprises, LLC, in August 2023
