HAWAII, USA — The U.S. Coast Guard confirmed that the 29-year-old Oliver Widger has safely landed in Hawaii as of Saturday.
Widger — who went viral for quitting his job and setting sail with no prior open-ocean experience and his cat, Phoenix — completed his 25-day voyage from Oregon. A Coast Guard boat rendezvoused with Widger’s sailboat approximately 2 miles off the northeastern tip of the island of Oahu, then escorted Widger into Hawaii.
