Normandy Park residents vote to pardon two turkeys in Thanksgiving food drive

NORMANDY PARK, Wash. — Two Normandy Park turkeys escaped ending up as entrees thanks to a Thanksgiving food drive. 

The City of Normandy Park set up two bins for food donations, one labeled “dinner,” and the other labeled “pardon.” Whichever bin received the most food donations decided the fate of the two turkeys. 

“This is our fourth year, it’s gotten to be quite the tradition, right around Halloween people start asking us, are the Turkeys coming?” said Candace Krull, an organizer of the Turkey Pardon Food Drive. 

Residents graciously voted to allow both turkeys to live by donating more food to the “pardon” bucket. The
