Scuba divers want a designated underwater park in Mukilteo, but the Port of Everett is asking to pause planning until waterfront development plans are final.
MUKILTEO, Wash. — For legions of scuba divers like George Barron, venturing underwater opens up a whole new world.
“All of your anxieties, all of the issues that you’ve got, watching the news too much, you walk into the water and you leave it behind,” Barron said.
But safety concerns sometimes follow divers underwater. Boaters and their propellers pose significant risks to those beneath the surface.
