Mount Vernon couple sues Washington over land taking tied to salmon habitat plan

A Mount Vernon couple says the state plans to demolish their only driveway while appeals over a land taking are still pending.

MOUNT VERNON, Wash. — A Mount Vernon couple has filed a federal lawsuit against the state of Washington, alleging state agencies wrongly condemned part of their property and are now preparing to demolish and relocate their driveway while appeals are still pending.

Steven and Dorothy Rindal filed the lawsuit Monday in U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington.
