Family members had filed an emergency order for custody of the boy and were attempting to serve the papers when they discovered he and his mother were missing.
EVERETT, Wash. — A woman suspected of killing her 4-year-old son is accused of stabbing him at least 16 times, according to court documents filed in the case.
The suspect, identified as 27-year-old Janet Garcia, will appear in court for the first time on Monday. She has not been officially charged with a crime. She was arrested on suspicion of first- and second-degree murder as well as first-degree assault of a child.
