More efficient on-ramp to SR 520 for drivers on Montlake Boulevard starts Monday

The new lanes are expected to help with traffic both northbound and southbound on Montlake Boulevard.

SEATTLE — Drivers entering westbound state Route 520 in Seattle from Montlake Boulevard will have an easier, more efficient path beginning Monday, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation. 

The department said the lanes will make a big difference in easing traffic congestion in the area. Drivers previously had to take a circuitous route that included extra mileage passing by the highway, followed by an awkward U-turn merge onto the southbound lanes.
