Monroe crash kills couple, leaves 4-year-old without parents

Family and friends are rallying around the child and mourning the loss of two beloved community members.

MONROE, Wash. — A head-on collision on Highway 2 near Monroe killed three people in the early hours of Saturday morning, including a married couple, leaving their 4-year-old son without parents and a community in mourning.

The Washington State Patrol says a westbound driver attempted to pass another vehicle and crossed into oncoming traffic, sending his car crashing directly into Maryanne and Dylon Craig. The driver who caused the collision also died. His passenger survived with injuries. The crash remains under investigation by the Washington State Patrol.
