Perhaps no one is experiencing that more than an Anacortes teacher who will not be back in the classroom next week. But she is still teaching lessons.
Jessica Pullen spent her final days before the new school year packing lunches, but not for students. The 25-year veteran educator was preparing meals for her fellow teachers at Anacortes High School as they ready for a year that will begin without her.
