Manhunt for Decker intensifies around Pacific Crest Trail as authorities expand closures

Officials are urging residents and cabin owners in remote parts of Chelan, Kittitas, King, Snohomish and Okanogan counties to take extra precautions.

CHELAN COUNTY, Wash. — Authorities believe Travis Decker, the man suspected of killing his three daughters in Chelan County, may be traveling along the Pacific Crest Trail as a multi-county manhunt enters its fourth day.

Park officials closed a wide swath of hiking trails in the Lake Chelan National Recreation Area within the Cascade Range late Thursday as law enforcement intensified its search. Earlier Thursday, officials closed the popular network of hiking trails known as the Enchantments.
