MAPLE FALLS, Wash. — A Bellingham man wanted in connection with a Ferndale shooting died Sunday evening after gunfire during an arrest attempt in Maple Falls, according to the Bellingham Police Department and FBI.
Luis E. Fernandez, 36, was one of two people identified as suspects in a shooting that left a 34-year-old Ferndale man in critical condition, investigators said.
The shooting happened around 4:20 a.m. Saturday, April 25, in the 3500 block of North Red River Road in Ferndale.
