Man sentenced to 40 years for Seattle motel fire that killed 2, injured 7

A judge delivered the sentence nearly six years after Jesse Puff set fire to the Hillside Motel.

SEATTLE — Nearly six years after a deliberately set fire tore through a Seattle motel, killing two people and injuring seven others, a judge sentenced Jesse Puff to 40 years in prison on Friday.

The sentencing brought a measure of closure to the families of victims who have waited years to see Puff face justice for the fire he set at the Hillside Motel in the summer of 2020. Puff was 24 years old at the time of the crime.
