CONCRETE, Wash. — In the quiet town of Concrete, a workshop sits filled with unfinished projects — a reminder of a life that was cut short on a Washington hiking trail.

Doug Andrews, 63, died Saturday after falling an estimated 150 to 200 feet from the Sauk Mountain Trail in Skagit County. Despite CPR efforts by fellow hikers, he died of blunt force trauma.
