Lynden schools to consider resolution creating ‘Charlie Kirk Day’

LYNDEN, Wash. — The Lynden School District will consider a resolution this week to designate the first Monday before Sept. 10 each year as “Charlie Kirk Day.”

The unsigned draft resolution, written by Superintendent David VanderYacht, is set for discussion and possible vote at Thursday’s board meeting. It affirms the district’s opposition to political violence and its support for student debate clubs. Kirk was known for holding public forums concerning political issues.
