Lumen Field to install grass pitch, undergo upgrades ahead of 2026 World Cup

Funds will be used to install a FIFA-required grass surface, enhance security in the stadium’s north parking lot, and upgrade seating in bleacher sections.

SEATTLE — Lumen Field is set to receive a grass pitch and millions of dollars in upgrades ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, using $19.4 million in state funding.
