Loved ones of slain Seattle woman hold emotional vigil after ex-council member pleads not guilty

The organizers encouraged donations for the Washington State Coalition Against Domestic Violence.

SEATTLE — A candlelight vigil brought together dozens of people in South Seattle Tuesday to honor and remember Liliya Guyvoronsky, the 20-year-old woman a former Bothell City Council member is accused of killing.

That suspect, James McNeal, pleaded not guilty in court Tuesday morning. A judge set his bail to $3 million.

“This was a crime against an intimate partner, and, i.e, domestic violence,” a state prosecutor said.
