Light rail extension plan in Tacoma threatens businesses

If the planned route is finalized in 2027, Sound Transit will demolish part or all of Freighthouse Square to build a new light rail station, the agency said.

TACOMA, Wash. — Sound Transit approved a new light rail extension plan on Thursday that threatens dozens of businesses housed inside of Tacoma’s historic Freighthouse Square
