If the planned route is finalized in 2027, Sound Transit will demolish part or all of Freighthouse Square to build a new light rail station, the agency said.
TACOMA, Wash. — Sound Transit approved a new light rail extension plan on Thursday that threatens dozens of businesses housed inside of Tacoma’s historic Freighthouse Square.
One of the businesses that could be impacted is Olive Branch Cafe and Tea Room.
