Late Colts owner Jim Irsay’s connection to a famous Puget Sound orca

Irsay pledged millions to move the last surviving Puget Sound orca in captivity back to her home in the Salish Sea.

WASHINGTON, USA — Longtime owner of the Indianapolis Colts, Jim Irsay, died peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, according to the team. 

He is being remembered as an eccentric philanthropist who contributed to many causes over the course of his lifetime, including an effort to bring a famous Puget Sound orca back to the Salish Sea.
