Landslides block all lanes of I-5 north near Bellingham

All lanes of northbound I-5 south of Bellingham and Highway 11 in Skagit County are blocked by slides, according to WSDOT.

BELLINGHAM, Wash. — All northbound lanes of I-5 just south of Bellingham are blocked after two landslides on Thursday night, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT). Another landslide is blocking state Route 11 in Skagit County. 

Near Bellingham, a slide near milepost 249 is fully blocking the highway and another slide happened near milepost 248.

Northbound traffic is being detoured at North Lake Samish Drive, exit 246, where fallen trees are blocking the roadway. All southbound I-5 lanes remain open.
