Landmark music venue The Crocodile to ‘transition to new ownership’

Court records describe The Crocodile’s financial problems, which is “indebted to creditors and is unable to pay its debts.”

SEATTLE — The Crocodile, perhaps Seattle’s most iconic music venue, is undergoing a court-appointed process to manage outstanding debt. Its general partner and manager says the process will “ensure an orderly transition to new ownership.” While the business itself is for sale, the building is not, a spokesperson confirmed.

Dominique R. Scalia was appointed general receiver over the business at 2505 1st Avenue under a court order, according to court records. Scalia is an attorney with DBS Law, a firm based in downtown Seattle.
