KENT, Wash. — A wave of grocery store closures is coming to Puget Sound as Kroger announced it will shut down 60 stores nationwide over the next 18 months, including six in the region. The company cited theft and regulatory challenges as factors in its decision, but local leaders argue the closures will devastate working-class communities.
