King County opens flood warning center as Snoqualmie River rises

King County monitors minor flooding on the Snoqualmie River after heavy rainfall boosts water levels above the 12,000 CFS threshold.

SNOQUALMIE, Wash. — King County activated its Flood Warning Center to monitor minor flooding along the Snoqualmie River after an atmospheric river brought hours of intense rainfall to the region.

River levels rose sharply across the county Saturday, but the Snoqualmie is the only waterway expected to flood this weekend.

As of noon on Nov. 1st, the combined flow of the Snoqualmie River’s three forks reached 12,160 cubic feet per second—just above the 12,000 CFS threshold that signals possible minor flooding in low-lying areas.
