King County deputy accused of raping teen Police Explorer Program volunteer

Ricardo Cueva led the Police Explorer Program, a volunteer program intended for teens and young adults who have an interest in law enforcement.

BURIEN, Wash. — A King County Sheriff’s deputy responsible for leading Burien’s Police Explorer Program for teens and young adults has been charged with rape, according the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. 

Ricardo Arturo Cueva, 39, was charged on May 30 with one count of first-degree sexual misconduct with a minor and one count of third-degree rape. His bail is set at $150,000 and if posted, he will be released on home monitoring. Cueva’s arraignment is scheduled for June 12.
