King County Council approved a ban on federal immigration enforcement on county property, aiming to promote safety amid regional efforts to curb the operations.
KING COUNTY, Wash. — Federal immigration enforcement agents are now prohibited from using county-owned property for any operations, according to a King County Council decision on Tuesday.
The ban prohibits the use of county-owned or county-controlled property for any federal immigration enforcement, including staging, surveillance, and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) or other Department of Homeland Security (DHS) operations.
