KING COUNTY, Wash. — King County leaders are formalizing a hands-off approach to naturally occurring psychedelics, aligning with a broader Pacific Northwest shift toward treating drugs like psilocybin as a potential remedy for some mental health conditions.

The King County Council on Tuesday approved a motion supporting continued research into entheogens and urging law enforcement to treat personal use and possession as among the lowest priorities.
