House of Hope on Whidbey Island is one of two overnight shelters in Island County operated by the Whidbey Homeless Coalition.
LANGLEY, Wash. — Kenny Moore and his family nearly had it all. Married nine years with two children, Moore had a reliable job driving a truck and the family was planning to buy a home. Then Moore got into a work-related wreck that changed everything.
Permanent injuries from the accident have made it difficult for Moore to find consistent work, leading to a cascade of losses for the family.
