Police said Denis Rodriguez Martinez was armed with a knife and advancing toward officers when they shot and killed him in a Seattle apartment.
SEATTLE — An inquest began Monday into the 2019 Seattle police killing of Denis Rodriguez Martinez.
The inquest, which is being held at the King County Courthouse, is expected to wrap up April 10.
An inquest is a fact-finding inquiry that occurs whenever law enforcement is involved in a person’s death. The King County executive may also order an inquest when someone dies under suspicious circumstances. It is not a trial and doesn’t determine guilt or civil liability.
