TACOMA, Wash. — Josh Hines and Anders Ibsen are hoping to win Tacoma voters over to become the city’s next mayor.
An initial round of election returns Tuesday showed Ibsen leading with 53.94% of the vote to Hines’ 46.06%. These are preliminary results and are subject to change. The next batch of votes is expect Nov. 5.
Upon seeing the initial results, Ibsen said he’s “extremely grateful but the work is beginning now.”
In the August primaries, Ibsen received 38.7% of the vote to Hines’ 19.15%.
