Many decided to protest Saturday in response to the shootings by federal agents in Portland and Minneapolis, with some attending a town hall with Rep. Maxine Dexter.
PORTLAND, Ore. — In a week’s time, the U.S. captured the Venezuelan president, a woman was shot and killed by a federal agent in Minneapolis, and two people identified by the Department of Homeland Security as Venezuelan immigrants were shot by federal agents in Portland.
So some Portlanders decided to protest Saturday.
“It really hits home, and you realize how you are not safe,” protester Rebecca Flaming-Martin said.
