House collapses near Gig Harbor, killing 1

MINTER, Wash. — A house under construction in Pierce County collapsed on workers Friday afternoon, killing one person, according to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department (PCSD). 

The house was located in Minter, Washington, about 11 miles northwest of Gig Harbor. The construction workers were building a house when it collapsed on the workers around 1 p.m., according to public information officer Sgt. Darren Moss Jr.

One person was killed and one person was airlifted to the hospital, Moss said.
