Here’s why Washington state flags are lowered Wednesday

Washington state will lower flags to half-staff Wednesday to honor Rev. Jesse Jackson, the late civil rights leader and two-time presidential candidate.

SEATTLE — Flags will be lowered to half-staff across Washington state Wednesday to honor Rev. Jesse Jackson, who died last month.

Gov. Bob Ferguson directed all Washington state and U.S. flags to be lowered at state agency facilities through close of business or sunset March 11.
