SEATTLE — Flags will be lowered to half-staff Thursday to honor former Washington state Supreme Court Justice Susan Owens.
Owens passed away on March 28. She was 75.
Owens retired in December following a 44-year judicial career. She was elected to the state Supreme Court in November 2000. She had previously served 19 years as a judge on the Clallam County District Court.
Owens was the seventh woman to serve on the court and the first woman to serve until the mandated retirement age of 75.
