Flags will be at half-staff on Thursday to honor fallen peace officers on Peace Officers Memorial Day.

SEATTLE — Flags will be at half-staff on Thursday in recognition of Peace Officers Memorial Day.

Gov. Bob Ferguson directed state agency facilities to lower flags to half-staff on May 15 until close of business or sunset.

Peace Officers Memorial Day is recognized across the United States and honors local, state and federal peace officers who have died or been disabled in the line of duty.

Peace Officers Memorial Day takes place during National Police Week.
