SEATTLE — Back to school is just days away, and that also means school zone cameras will soon be watching drivers again.
Several cities across the region use them, but this year, Seattle is doubling the number of cameras near schools. The Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) is adding 37 new school zone speed cameras at 19 schools before the end of the year. Eleven of those cameras will turn on in September, including one along 35th Avenue Northeast near Bryant Elementary in the Ravenna
