Help name Washington’s newest apple

Washington State University is asking for help naming the new variety of apple which is described as “tart and sweet, firm, crisp, and juicy.”

PULLMAN, Wash. — Washington State University is asking for the public’s help in choosing a name for its latest variety of apples.

The variety, currently called WA 64, has been in development for more than 20 years and is less susceptible to certain diseases. The apple is described as a mix between Honeycrisp and Cripps Pink, which is better known under the trademarked name of Pink Lady.
