Two skiers stranded near Cascade Pass were rescued by helicopter last month, officials say.
SKAGIT COUNTY, Wash. — Two skiers were rescued from dangerous terrain in Skagit County last month after becoming stranded near the Ptarmigan Traverse, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.
Search and rescue teams were notified of the incident around 4:45 p.m. on March 4. The skiers, a man and a woman both 25 years old, were reportedly stranded on a steep, north-facing slope roughly 6,000 feet above sea level, just above Cascade Pass.
Officials said the pair was unable to move safely and faced a serious risk of falling.
