‘Heavily intoxicated’ driver had to be cut from car, severed power pole, Seattle police say

An intoxicated driver crashed into a power pole in Seattle’s Magnolia neighborhood Saturday night, prompting road closures.

SEATTLE — A driver who police described as “heavily intoxicated” had to be cut out of his vehicle after a single-vehicle crash this weekend in Seattle’s Magnolia neighborhood. 

Seattle police officers responded to a crash around 11:40 p.m. on Saturday night in the 3400 block of Viewmont Way W. 

Arriving officers found the suspect’s vehicle sideways against a power pole, which was nearly severed in half and will need to be replaced.
