Hazy skies expected to impact western Washington air quality as wildfire smoke moves in

Hazy skies will blanket western Washington as wildfire smoke drifts from central and eastern parts of the state.

SEATTLE — Hazy skies will return to western Washington on Tuesday as smoke from the wildfires burning in central and eastern Washington makes its way toward the coast.

Air quality is already in the moderate range for much of the region and is expected to continue getting worse until midday Wednesday. An Air Quality Alert is in effect for Chelan, Douglas and Okanagan counties until midnight Wednesday.
