Guardian helicopters join Green River kayak rescue mission

Initial reports indicated the kayakers were either stuck on a logjam or stranded on the riverbank. There were no reports of injuries.

ENUMCLAW, Wash. — Emergency crews responded Tuesday afternoon to a water rescue on the Green River near Enumclaw, where two kayakers became stranded, officials said.

The call came in just before 2 p.m., according to Enumclaw Fire Chief Ben Hayman. Initial reports indicated the kayakers were stuck on a logjam or stranded on the riverbank. There were no reports of injuries.

The individuals were located safely on the river’s north bank, the King County Sheriff’s Office said.
