The man reportedly stole Magic: The Gathering cards from a Ballard warehouse where he temporarily worked and began selling them online after his work contract ended, police said.
A manager initially reported the theft to police on Jan. 23 after noticing “substantial discrepancies” in the Magic card stock, according to the SPD blotter. The man had stopped working at the warehouse just days before.
The business found Magic cards similar to those that were missing from the inventory were being sold online from Washington. An envelope from an order through the online marketplace had the suspect’s name and address on it, police said.
