Following two dog deaths, health officials warn of new form of toxic algae

The new type of algae forms into mats and has been found along the Columbia River. Experts said can be just as toxic blue-green algae blooms often found on lakes.

CLARK COUNTY, Wash. — George and Elise Pang said their dog, Cedar, was as good as any dog could be.

“Cedar was the best dog,” said Elise Pang, of their rust-colored Cavapoo. “He was very sweet, loving, great with kids.”
