Folklife Festival draws big crowds as Seattle visitors near pre-pandemic numbers

The annual Memorial Day weekend event is expected to draw 250,000 people to Seattle Center over four days.

SEATTLE — About 250,000 people are expected to attend the 54th Northwest Folklife Festival this weekend, as Seattle inches closer to reaching pre-pandemic visitor numbers. 

Vendors told KING 5 the four-day event drew large crowds to Seattle Center on Friday and Saturday.

“Man, the crowds have been great this year with all the sun out. Man, it’s amazing. Last year it was raining but this year it’s beautiful weather. Clear skies, couldn’t ask for anything better, honestly,” said Ali Farhoud, whose family has operated a Hawaiian food
