INDEX, Wash. — Fire crews rescued a hiker who was pinned under a tree and suffered injuries near Bridal Veil Falls Saturday, just before noon.
Firefighters arrived at the scene around 11:40 a.m. and encountered high winds that had already knocked down several trees, with more continuing to fall. The dangerous conditions made reaching the injured hiker difficult, as multiple fallen trees blocked the trail.
